Basketball legend suggests female officers would help community relations

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A former basketball star turned commentator says more women on the Chicago Police force would help improve community relations. 

Kareem Abdul Jabbar recently wrote a column for TIME magazine saying women are just as good as men at dealing with violent confrontations, and they are better at not provoking them.

Jabbar went on to say that female officers are less "personally challenged" by defiant suspects.

By the way, Jabbar has two generations of police officers in his family.
