Bomb threat cleared at Glen Ellyn elementary school

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (STMW) -  A bomb threat at a west suburban elementary school was not credible and students are being brought back to the school to resume their regular school day.

Churchill Elementary at 240 Geneva Rd. in Glen Ellyn was evacuated at 8:55 a.m. because of a bomb threat, according to a statement on the Glen Ellyn School District 41 website. Students were transported safely to Hadley Junior High School.

Glen Ellyn police and the DuPage County sheriff’s office investigated the  threat and determined it was unfounded.

“Again, the police have found no credibility to this threat and have called an all clear. The police will have a presence at all of our district schools for the remainder of the day,” according to the statement.

Students will be bused back to Churchill at 11 a.m. to complete their school day.
