BATAVIA (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A woman has been ticketed for DUI after her vehicle crashed into a home early Tuesday in west suburban Batavia.

Mary Gosselin, 21, of Batavia was cited for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and disobeying a stop sign, according to Batavia police.

Gosselin was driving in the 300 block of Pine Street about 1:30 a.m. when her vehicle left the road and struck a house, then two vehicles parked in the driveway, before flipping over and landing on its roof, according to the Batavia Fire Department.

One of the parked vehicles was pushed into the detached garage through the closed overhead door, according to the fire department.

Crews took 45 minutes to remove the driver from the vehicle, according to the fire department. She was taken to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A city building inspector was called to check the damage to the house and garage, and deemed both structurally safe. Five residents of the home were not hurt.
