Chicago journalist Elizabeth Brackett dies from injuries suffered in bicycle accident

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - Award-winning journalist Elizabeth Brackett died on Sunday from injuries suffered in a bicycle accident.

Brackett worked for decades as a host of "Chicago Tonight" on WTTW. She was 76-years-old.

Brackett was bicycling along the lakefront path in Chicago on Wednesday morning and was found near 39th Street Beach. The accident left her in a coma.

Brackett retired from her full-time job at "Chicago Tonight" in 2014.
