Chicago police buy groceries for disabled woman

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - Two Chicago police officers demonstrated an act of kindness Thursday while responding to a report of a disoriented woman in the Washington Heights neighborhood.
They approached the woman and determined that she appeared to be nonverbal and had "extreme difficulty" communicating, according to a CPD Facebook post.
The officers began writing back and forth with her on a piece of paper, finding out her home address. Police proceeded to take her home, which was a few blocks away. Upon arriving, police found that the woman lived alone and had very little food.
The officers drove to Jewel to buy groceries for the woman with their own money. Upon their return, they were "thanked with tears and a hug and went on their way to their next job."
