Diehard Cubs fans believe 2016 is the year

Chicago Cubs fans have waited a lifetime for a season like this, including 85-year-old Dolores Wilson.

“The people and the atmosphere around here is great," said Wilson, hours before Sunday’s Game 2 of the NLCS.

She moved into her home near Clark and Addison 55 years ago and even makes a few extra bucks on game days - selling parking spots on her property.

“I love it here, I love it here, I can see the people all the time converse with the people all the time,” she said standing on her porch and looking over at Wrigley Field.

Other fans spent Sunday afternoon waiting in line at the ticket office hoping to get a last minute seat inside Wrigley.

"My grandma was a diehard Cubs fan and it kind of feels like something I have to do for her," said Gina Galderio.

Lucky fans with tickets spent the afternoon in a different line - like Jeff and Max Walters from North Carolina.

“In second grade he brought me to my first Cubs game here at Wrigley versus the Yankees and ever since, I've been a Cubs fan," said Max Walters.

This isn't the only postseason game they hope is in their future.

“I thought the easy bet was to promise him - that if they ever come to the World Series I will take you to see the Cubs play and I didn't ever think I would have to pay off, but I am,” said Jeff Walters.

Cubs fans, young and old, believe it's finally the year when history is made and curses are broken.

“This is great, this is great and we are going to go all the way this year," said Wilson.

Game 3 is set for 7:08p.m. (Central) on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
