Families pack Chicago animal shelter, looking for pets to love amid overcrowding crisis

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) Saturday was an exceptionally busy day at Chicago Animal Care and Control.

After Fox 32 News' story earlier this week reporting that the shelter was overcrowded, many Chicagoans came to help. The staff anticipated that 30 to 40 dogs were going to be adopted on Saturday; that is ten times the usual amount.

When Fox 32 News visited on Saturday, some of the potential pet families said that they were at the shelter thanks to our report.

Chicago Animal Care and Control said that 16 dogs were adopted on Friday.
