Former Supt. McCarthy says he was the scapegoat in Laquan McDonald case

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - For the first time since he was fired, former Chicago Police superintendent Garry McCarthy has spoken out.

McCarthy was at Harvard University for a forum on failures in America’s justice system. He defended his record in Chicago and said a lot of his former officers feel he got a raw deal.

McCarthy didn't draw a direct link, but he pointed out that murders in Chicago have skyrocketed since he was fired.
