Loyola outraged at reports that Sister Jean left game early because team was losing

SAN ANTONIO (Fox 32 News) - Sister Jean did not leave Saturday night's game early because Loyola-Chicago was losing, and any report otherwise is "utterly disgusting," the school said.

It was Sister Jean's wish that she be near the tunnel to speak with players as they left the court, reported USA Today.

“I cannot believe anyone would insinuate she gave up on these kids," said assistant athletic director for communications at Loyola Bill Behrns. “How utterly disgusting."

The internet lit up on Saturday with video of Sister Jean being pushed out in her wheelchair in the game's final moments. Loyola lost to Michigan 69-57.
