New program to give Chicagoans access to cheap prescriptions

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The city of Chicago has a new program to help residents gain access to cheap prescriptions.

The Chicago Rx Card will provide discounts of up to 80 percent on more than 60,000 brand name and generic prescriptions.

Officials say the cards are free and will be accepted at all major chain pharmacies.

Starting Wednesday, you can get one online at ChicagoRxCard.com or by visiting a library or your alderman's office.

The new website also allows residents to locate participating pharmacies and search for the price of prescription drugs, medical equipment, and even medication for their pets.
