'Northern Lights' could be visible tonight in parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Michigan

The Northern Lights - aka the aurora borealis - could be visible to millions of Americans Sunday night

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - It's possible that millions of Americans will be able to see the aurora borealis ("Northern Lights") on Sunday night.

The federal Space Weather Prediction Center said that the Northern Lights should be visible in New England, upstate New York, Michigan, northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Montana.

That means people in Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Albany and Boston could all see the aurora borealis.

The best chance for seeing the lights will be from 10 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday CT.
