'One Summer Chicago' aims to pair city's youth with jobs

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - Keeping kids busy and safe this summer -- that's the goal of so many Chicago parents.

Jobs are increasingly scarce for teenagers with little or no work experience.

But it's not about how much you'll get paid, In many cases---that job could safe a life.

The city is kicking off another year of "One Summer Chicago" and this year, they plan on providing 30,000 youth jobs.

The jobs program is available for anyone between 14 and 24 years old with some of the employers including Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Parks Department.
