CHICAGO (STMW) - No one was injured when an extra-alarm fire led to the partial collapse of an Avondale neighborhood warehouse Monday night on the Northwest Side.

About 7:45 p.m., firefighters responding to the blaze at the three-story warehouse in the 3000 block of North Rockwell found fire on the second floor, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder.

The fire was soon upgraded to a second alarm and approximately 110 firefighters responded to the scene, fire officials said.

The front of the building collapsed, but no one was injuries were reported and the fire was struck out about 10 p.m., Schroeder said. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Metropolis Coffee Company’s Roasterie is located near the warehouse at 1039 W. Granville.

“For all who have messaged about the massive fire on Rockwell-it is not our Roasterie. It seems to be the building in front of our roasterie,” Metropolis Coffee tweeted Monday night.
