CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -- It has become a familiar sight in downtown Chicago, protesters holding signs, marching and chanting. Saturday was no different. The rally and march was organized by the Chicago Anonymous group and was called “Peace through Unity.”

This follows a rough week for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez as another video was released showing a Chicago police officer shooting and killing an African American teenager.

The public started calling for the two to resign or be recalled last month and those demands have only strengthened, but both have said repeatedly they aren't going anywhere.

A group of several dozen protesters met at Federal Plaza in Chicago Saturday and listened to speakers.

“If we allow ourselves to miss this moment and go back to business as usual then we will be responsible for the next cover up,” said Young Leaders Alliance Jedidiah Brown.

Retired Philadelphia Police Captain Ray Lewis was an invited speaker for the afternoon rally. He said the Chicago movement is powerful and rightfully so.

“The Laquan McDonald case was blatant, not only abuse and cover up by the police department, by the mayor, the mayor has got to resign,” said Lewis.

Meanwhile at District 9 headquarters a Chicago police support rally was held with a small crowd, but support nonetheless.

Protesters said they will continue to march and chant until real change comes and the mayor and state’s attorney are out.
