CHICAGO (STMW) - A 10-year-old boy was killed and two other people were injured when a minivan slammed into a viaduct support beam early Saturday on the Southwest Side.

Crews responded at 4:08 a.m. to the single-vehicle crash in the 3600 block of West Marquette, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Carlos Rodriguez of the 5200 block of South Francisco.

The 32-year-old man at the wheel of the van was taken to the same hospital in serious condition, along with a 13-year-old girl whose condition stabilized, police said.
