Police: Evanston woman hasn't been heard from since February

- A north suburban woman who was reported missing from Evanston by her husband last month hasn’t been heard from since February.

Nyameka Amanda Bell, 33, was reported missing in September by her husband, according to Evanston police. He told police she left their home in November 2015 and he has not heard from her since.

Bell is described as a 5-foot, 150-pound black woman, police said. She also also goes by the names Nyameka Malindi and Amanda Malindi.

Her car, a gray 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, with Illinois license plate V609349 is also unaccounted for, police said.

Detectives spoke with Bell’s acquaintances, who have not heard from or seen her since February, police said. Her relatives in South Africa, where she is originally from, also said they had not heard from her since February.

She never picked up her last paycheck from her last known employer, and none of her credit card, banking card or cellphone records have generated any leads, police said.

Anyone with information should call Evanston police at (847) 866-5000. Tips can also be texted to 274637 by entering “EPDTIP” in the message, along with the tip.
