Police search for woman who vanished in Wrigleyville

Police are searching for Brenda Gilbertson, a Wisconsin woman who went missing early Sunday after going out with a friend in the Wrigleyville neighborhood on the North Side.

Gilbertson, 38, came to Chicago from her home in northern Wisconsin to attend some classes, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. She went out Saturday night with a friend and was last seen about 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Addison and Clark.

A smartphone app showed her phone near Washtenaw and Devon, but neither her phone nor Gilbertson has been found, police said.

Gilberson is described as a 5-foot-7, 120-pound white woman with blonde hair, green eyes and a fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a short black wool jacket, white sleeveless blouse, blue jeans and gray boots.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call Area North Special Victims Unit detectives at (312) 744-8266.
