Ramp to I-80 East closed due to fatal I-355 crash
SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A fatal crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 355 has closed the ramp to eastbound Interstate 80.
The crash happened about 3:20 p.m. on the southbound I-355 ramp to eastbound I-80 near New Lenox, according to Illinois State Police.
The driver of a semitrailer was headed south on I-355 when the semitrailer’s load shifted and it overturned on the ramp to I-80, state police said. One occupant of the semi was killed in the crash.
The eastbound I-80 ramp will be shut down for several hours for an investigation, police said.
