Retired Chicago bus driver wins $2 million lottery prize while riding bus

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A retired Chicago bus driver was riding the bus when he scratched his winning $2 million lottery ticket.

Roy Pittman, 71, bought the winning $2,000,000 Jumbo Bucks ticket at Vincennes Food Mart at 400 W. 79th St., according to the Illinois Lottery.

“I was on the bus going home from the store when I scratched my ticket,” he said when he presented his winning ticket at the Lottery Prize Center. “When I realized I won $2 million, I started shaking!”

He plans to share his winnings with family and donate to his favorite charities. The store will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
