Suburban police negotiate with man with knife in ER
Winfield, Illinois (Fox 32 News) - Police were called to a hospital in suburban Chicago on Saturday with reports of a man with a weapon.
Winfield Police officers found a man with a knife in the emergency room of Northwestern Medicine/Central DuPage Hospital. He was holding the knife to his own throat and making demands of hospital staff.
The 31-year-old patient negotiated with police and eventually gave up the knife.
He was admitted to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation. No one was hurt.
