Roads reopen after suspicious package reported in West Rogers Park

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A suspicious package found Thursday morning in the West Rogers Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side has been deemed safe.

The package was found at 8:49 a.m. in the 6000 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

The police Bomb Squad was called to the scene and officers evacuated a nearby office building as a precaution, police said.

The package was deemed safe by 11:20 a.m., police said.

Kedzie was closed in the area, as was Lincoln between Jersey and Peterson avenues, but the streets have since reopened, police said.
