Two Chicago cops hurt in crash that also critically injured civilian

Two Chicago police officers were hurt in a crash on the South Side Wednesday evening, and a civilian was critically injured.

A witness says after both officers – a male and female – got out of their vehicle, the male cop was bleeding from his ear. But they immediately went to check on a woman in an SUV who was trapped in the car and hysterical.

The witness says several people nearby sprang into action to free the woman from the overturned SUV.

The two officers and civilian were taken to Christ Medical center. The woman in the SUV is in critical condition. The officers are in fair condition. The Chicago Fire Department, though, says all three are in stable condition.
