CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) - A Facebook group for McHenry County bargain shoppers helped reunite a 6-year-old girl and her twin sister with their missing stuffed animal.
The Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake reports that 21-year-old Christine Granlund found the toy she would later learn is named Gray-Gray Mouse while stopped at a red light in a construction zone.
Granlund turned for help to a closed Facebook group where more than 20,000 members shop for baby clothes, furniture and other items.
Group member Linda Estey said her daughter lost Gray-Gray Mouse while the family was in their car looking for a new home.
Granlund told the newspaper that losing a childhood Barbie doll also through a car window motivated her to help return the companion with light gray fur and round pink ears.
