Florida close to eliminating daylight saving time

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (Fox 32 News) Florida is another step closer to eliminating daylight saving time.

Gov. Rick Scott has signed a bill that the state's legislature passed last month.

The change would mean no more "springing forward" and "falling back." During the winter, Florida would essentially be in the Atlantic Time Zone, one hour ahead of everyone else on the East Coast.

Though Florida lawmakers have approved the change, the law still requires federal approval.

Most people in Arizona also do not observe daylight saving time.
