There is a little known but disturbing epidemic taking place across the country that is impacting thousands of military veterans and their families.
And the statistics of the hidden hunger crisis tell the story.
As many as one in four military families are affected by food insecurity. Twenty percent of families who go to a food pantry includes someone who has served in the US Military. And 25 percent of households who get food assistance from the Feeding America network include an active-duty service member.
Duncan Ward, a veteran and the Director of Empowerment programs at Loaves and Fishes Community Services, joined us LIVE on FOX 32 News at Noon to talk more about the crisis.
