PARKLAND, FLORIDA (Fox 32 News) - The National Rifle Association dramatically increased its online ad spending in the days after the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida last month.
Seventeen people were killed when a student opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
The Chicago Tribune reported that before the shooting, the NRA spent an average of $11,300 per day on online ads. That amount shot up to $47,300 per day after Parkland.
Much of that was spent on Facebook. The NRA spent $34,000/day on Facebook ads following the shooting, more than seven times its average buy beforehand.
