"The child suffered blunt force trauma to the stomach and the head," says Sgt. Lee Gragg of the Palmetto Police Department. Gragg says it appeared Gaddy hit the girl numerous times.
Gaddy is in the Fulton County Jail and was originally booked on charges of child cruelty and aggravated battery.
"I want the world to know her as a hero... not a victim," says Tiffany Harris, the mother of two-year-old Addisyn BreAnn Sanders. She plans to have her daughter's organs donated, after her daughter was declared officially brain-dead at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
Harris tells FOX 5 she discovered her daughter lifeless on the floor Tuesday, after returning home from work.
"I shook her. I kept shaking her and screaming her name," Harris says. Harris called 911, and Addisyn was flown Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
Harris is working to raise funds for her daughter's burial and healthcare expenses through PNC Bank in Palmetto and a GoFundMe page titled "Addisyn BreAnn Sanders."
"I know [William Gaddy] did it. I don't want to feel emotions towards him. Right now its about my child," Harris says.
