WATCH: Body cam footage of gator captured at house

A few weeks ago, Boynton Beach Officer Alfredo Vargas says that he responded to a call about a large alligator at the front door of a house.

When the officer called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), they said a trapper could not make it to the house for another 30 minutes at least.

Vargas also said that he did not want the FWC to kill the reptile, so he took matters into his own hands.

It took a few attempts, but Vargas was able to put the gator in the back of his patrol car and release it back into a nearby canal.

Vargas learned to wrangle gators from his friends at Gator Boys Alligator Rescue.
