Big Step for White, Bennett back to work

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - For the first time in months, Bears' rookie receiver Kevin White participated in drills at practice and ran routes.  White says he still has some discomfort in his surgically repaired leg, however he's still pushing to make a return this season.

The Bears must elevate him to the 53-man roster by December 15th, or place him on injured reserve.

Tight end Martellus Bennett returned to practice, after missing Thursday's game at Lambeau with a rib injury.

Bennett has been one of the NFL's most durable players over his career, so it was surprising to see him miss time. He hopes to be back on the field Sunday, and acknowledged he might have been able to play if the game hadn't been on Thursday.

For the second time in three weeks, a Bears coach will face off with his former employer. This time, Vic Fangio takes on a 49'ers franchise that passed him over when it hired Jim Tomsula as head coach.

Fangio said he has only good memories about his time in San Francisco, and as far as any revenge factor, he's only concerned about this Bears team.

"We're 5-6," he said. "All I'm thinking about is trying to get us to 6-6."
