Coach John Fox addresses Kevin White's move to PUP list

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A day after officially announcing that they will keep rookie wide receiver Kevin White on the physically unable to perform list, effectively ending his season, John Fox addressed the situation for the first time.

"Let's make this clear," Fox said, "Kevin has done everything in his power to play for us this season.

The Bears could have elevated White to the 53 man roster, allowing him to continue to practice even if he didn't see game action. But Fox said there were other roster concerns that prevented them from doing so.

Meanwhile, the Bears got linebacker Pernell McPhee back at practice in a limited capacity. The team has been clear that it does not expect McPhee's injury to heal before the season is over.  His availability will be based on how much pain he can tolerate.

Special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers addressed kicker Robbie Gould's career-worst streak over the last two games. Gould has missed his last three field goals, but Rodgers is confident he can turn things around.

"There's very few things he could do more, and I wouldn't even knew what they were, than what he's already done.  We're hoping he works himself out of it, and we're successful the next time out," said Rodgers.
