White Sox LHP Carlos Rodon heads to DL

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left wrist.

The move Saturday was retroactive to Wednesday. Rodon was tagged for six runs and a season high-tying 12 hits over five innings in a 9-0 loss to the New York Yankees a day earlier.

Right-handed reliever Tommy Kahnle was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. He has a 6.23 ERA in five appearances with Chicago this season.

The 23-year-old Rodon is 2-7 with a 4.50 ERA in 16 starts. The third overall pick in the 2014 draft is winless in his last seven starts.

Rodon went 9-6 with a 3.75 ERA over 23 starts as a rookie in 2015.
