CHICAGO (STMW) - Overnight road closures and detours will be implemented on Illinois Route 390 in northwest suburban Roselle this weekend as part of the Illinois Tollway’s Elgin-O’Hare Western Access Project.

One eastbound lane of Route 390 will close between Roselle Road and Mitchell Boulevard at 9 p.m. Saturday to prepare for the full closure and detour, the Illinois Tollway said in a statement.

All eastbound lanes will close between Roselle Road and Lake Street at 10 p.m. and traffic will be detoured along Lake, Gary Avenue, Central Avenue and Roselle, the tollway said. One lane will reopen by 7 a.m. Sunday, and all lanes are scheduled to reopen by 10 a.m.

The closure will allow crews to work on installing toll collection equipment as part of the Elgin-O’Hare Western Access Project, according to the tollway.

During the overnight closure, an eastbound traffic shift will also be put into place between Lake and Rodenburg Road in order to create a work zone on the left side for reconstruction and widening work on Route 390, the tollway said.

A similar full closure will be in effect Sunday night to complete installation of over-the-road tolling equipment on the westbound lanes of Route 390, according to the tollway. Traffic will be detoured using Roselle, Irving Park Road, Barrington Road and Lake.

One lane will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, and all lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. ahead of the morning rush hour, the tollway said.
