CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - More than 200 flights were canceled at Chicago’s airports Sunday because of the large snowstorm that hit the East Coast over the weekend.
Airlines had canceled more than 160 flights at O’Hare International Airport as of 9:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the city’s Department of Aviation. More than 60 flights were canceled at Midway.
At O’Hare, both inbound and outbound flights were delayed about 20 minutes Sunday morning. No delays were reported at Midway.
Travelers should check the status of their flights with their specific airlines for more details, the department said.
On Saturday, more than 150 flights were canceled at O’Hare and Midway, and on Friday, more than 200 flights were canceled.
Snow has blanketed parts of the mid-Atlantic since Friday, including Baltimore and Washington, D.C., according to the National Weather Service. Some areas have seen more than two feet of snow.
