Bellis Blog: Warm start to September
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - After Chicago’s streak of 33 consecutive days at or above 80 degrees ended on August 19th, things have cooled down. But only for a short while.
In fact the average high temperature from July 16th through August 18th was 86 degrees. Since then Chicago has seen 5 days in the 70s with an average high temperature of 76 degrees.
Unseasonably cool air will hang around through Thursday of next week with near normal temperatures expected Friday through the weekend.
Next week looks very warm with highs quite possibly climbing into the mid to upper 80s with fairly comfortable humidity levels.
Not much rain is expected now through the middle of next week after a very wet start to the meteorological summer. Through July 17th, Chicago received almost 10 inches of rain and since then only 1.42 inches of rain has fallen.
