The Brief

    • A reported shooting on I-355 in southwest suburban Lemont snarled traffic for a couple of hours.
    • No injuries were reported, according to the ISP.

LEMONT, Ill. - A shooting on Interstate 355 in the southwest suburbs caused traffic delays for hours on Wednesday.

What we know:

Illinois State Police said troopers are investigating the alleged shooting on I-355 northbound near 127th Street in Lemont.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. No injuries have been reported, ISP said.

Northbound lanes were closed but then reopened by 3 p.m.

Traffic was diverted off at 127th Street.
