An instructor at a Stony Island Park neighborhood dance studio on the South Side has been charged with filming himself sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl multiple times over more than a year.

Maurice Fulson, 44, is charged with two felony counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim under his supervision between 13 and 17 years old, according to a statement from Chicago police. He’s also facing two felony child pornography charges.

Fulson, the owner and operator of a dance studio in the 1700 block of East 87th Street, is accused of sexually assaulting the 16-year-old girl multiple times between June 2016 and December 2017, police said. He also “recorded sex acts with the victim and stored them on electronic devices.”

Fulson, who lives in West Pullman on the Far South Side, was arrested about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

The victim told FOX 32 she was sexually assaulted by Fulson starting in June 2016 to the end of 2017, when she was 16.

"One day he dropped all the kids off and he took [my daughter] to his house. It was a day when her sister wasn't with her and she said he raped her at his house," Latasha Bailey, the mother of the victim, said.

During the course of our investigation, we uncovered information that Fulson taught classes at a CPS elementary school through a contracted vendor.

A spokeswoman from Chicago Public Schools said they have ended ties with the vendor that worked with Fulson. She also said CPS isn’t aware of any allegations from participants in the program or any students at the school.

CPS spokeswoman, Emily Bolton, wrote in a statement: "We have terminated the vendor's contract and we are moving quickly to investigate this matter, take any additional appropriate action and inform parents at the schools where this organization operated."

Fulson was ordered held without bail during a hearing Friday at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse. His next court date was set for Aug. 29.
