Mom shot dead in front of her sons in cell phone store

A Chicago woman was killed at a cellphone store by a stray bullet in front of her children.

Candice Dickerson, 36, was at a Metro PCS store on Friday getting a cell phone for one of her three sons as a gift to honor him for good grades.

Chicago Police said a bullet from a shooting outside the store went into the building. She was shot in the back of her head in front of her sons. The suspect is still on the run.

Dickerson worked as a pharmacy technician at a West Side hospital. On Saturday, her family was flying in to Chicago for her funeral.

"She was so sweet, funny... always about the kids," said sister Nicole Dickerson.

"She didn't deserve it," said sister Mechele Thompson.
