Pilot, passenger hurt when plane lands on frozen Rock River

Plane crash on Rock River in Illinois

STERLING, Illinois (Fox 32 News) - A small plane crashed on the Rock River near Grand Detour, Illinois on Saturday.

On board were the pilot and one passenger. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The plane landed on ice on the river and did not immediately sink.

The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
