SWITZERLAND (Fox 32 News) - Switzerland has become the latest country to ban boiling live lobsters without first rendering them unconscious.

There are similar bans in New Zealand and in an Italian town called Reggio Emilia, according to the Washington Post.

The Post said that most scientists agree that lobsters cannot feel pain because they do not have brains. Insects also do not feel pain.

However, a small minority believes lobsters can feel pain. Others said that until we can prove one way or another that they do or don't, it's our responsibility to treat them humanely.
