1 killed, 1 critically injured in scooter, car crash in Belmont Cragin

A man was killed and another was injured in a crash between a car and a gas-powered scooter in Belmont Cragin early Monday morning.

Two men were riding north on a gas-powered scooter in the 2300 block of North Cicero Avenue at about 12:42 a.m. when they hit the side of a gray sedan traveling westbound, police said.

Ganchozo Jesus Rodriguez, 28, and another man were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. Rodriguez was pronounced dead hours later.

The driver of the sedan wasn’t injured.

Citations are pending, according to police.
