News Photographer: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for a staff photographer for our news broadcast(s). Candidate will shoot and edit spot news, feature stories and sports. They will also perform LiveU and ENG microwave shots from in and around the Chicago area. Candidate must be a high caliber news photographer with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred. Candidate must be able to shoot and edit a package in the field and must be familiar with Adobe Premiere.

Candidate must be able to lift over fifty (50) pounds of equipment, walk carrying a tripod, batteries and Live U backpack. Must be willing to work in extreme hot/cold weather conditions and be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overnights. Individual must also work well with Assignment Desk, Writers, and Reporters. We’re looking for people with ideas beyond a typical promotional spot and who want to make short-form videos and digital franchises in addition to topicals and image spots. Job Summary:

The Multimedia & Commercial Producer will work with our Sales Team to create attention-grabbing commercials for clients on linear TV and streaming platforms.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, pitch, write, produce, and edit engaging commercial spots;
  • Produce client-sponsored promotional content;
  • Successfully execute projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;

Sports Producer: FOX 32 Chicago is on the hunt for a dynamic Sports Producer with a passion for in-depth storytelling and a rich understanding of what makes the sports world captivating. We're not after the average sportscast producer; we need a forward-thinker who crafts compelling narratives that celebrate the human spirit and passion behind athletic endeavors. This role is about innovation—podcasts, original programming, live specials, and short-form documentaries that resonate profoundly with our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and bring to life live sports shows, including events and digital content, from conception to completion.
  • Develop and produce engaging sports content that steps beyond conventional coverage.
  • Conduct interviews, write riveting scripts, guide editing processes, and manage show budgets efficiently.
  • Oversee team operations, including working with talent, Associate Producers, Production Associates throughout each production phase.

News Producer: WFLD is seeking a staff producer to contribute to one of Fox 32’s newscasts. This role requires a producer to gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. The candidate must have strong writing skills and be self-sufficient for the newscast. Responsible for story content and accuracy. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate.  REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years producing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Streaming Sales & Insights Specialist: Do you want to play a key role in building a successful connected television/streaming business? This Specialist role is one part marketer, one part data analyst and is fully involved from the pre-sales process all the way through to post ad campaign reporting. Account Executive: You will be responsible for all aspects of accounts, generating new business, selling OTT and CTV platforms, and the creation and sale of unique multi-screen promotional sponsorships. Work independently and with sales management to implement strategies to maintain strong client and agency relationships, consistently grow revenue, and exceed revenue goals. Present and negotiate all aspects of the stations and digital offerings. Deliver unique and valuable packages to new and existing clients. Technician: The production technician will operate auxiliary equipment as part of FOX 32’s live news and sports productions. These include but are not limited to robotic cameras, graphics and audio. The ability to excel under pressure in the fast-paced environment of live local news alongside a talented team of producers and directors is required. Responsibilities include: serve as technical co-pilot for all news and sports programming, experience with studio LED lighting, ETC lighting consoles, Ross studio camera robotics, SSL audio consoles, and Chyron graphics system the ability to mix multiple audio sources during any news or sports program, experience in an automated production control room environment, interaction with talent and guests using excellent interpersonal communication, verbal skills and a professional demeanor is critical. Other duties may include recording news and programming feeds and tuning in Satellite and Microwave signals, preparing content for broadcast by ingesting and timing media as well as judging technical quality. Previous experience with or ability to learn Grass Valley iTX master control automation system is also helpful. Knowledge of windows server/client platforms, high performance storage systems and video encoding/delivery systems is a plus. REQUIREMENTS: Five or more years of television production experience is preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively isolate and resolve technical problems within network and broadcast systems. You must be a team player that is able to work independently as required. You must have in-depth troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform successfully under pressure are essential. Maintenance Technician: WFLD Fox Chicago is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will assist in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of all equipment associated with a 24/7/365 television operation in a major market. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Automated Master Control Systems, Automated Production Control Rooms Systems, Studio Production equipment, Camera Control Systems, Robotic Pedestals, Remote Production ENG equipment, Newsroom Video Playback, File Based Archive solutions, non-linear edit systems and satellite distribution systems.  The selected candidate will also assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at the Studio, Transmitter, and Remote Facilities.  Familiarity with Evertz Magnum, Grass Valley ITX, Sony switchers and ELC, Bit Central Playout, Chyron Graphics systems, and Telestream Vantage is a plus.
