Promotions Producer/ Writer: The News Promo-Producer will write, produce and edit promos, including daily topicals, station and news image spots, POP’s, network prime and program spots for the Fox Duopoly in Chicago, IL. The Topical Promotions Producer will be responsible for writing/producing/editing Fox Chicago news promotions under deadlines; production of image identity campaigns; production of compelling spots that take a unique approach and connect with viewers and increasing view tune-in through the production of top quality promotions. REQUIREMENTS: 5 + years experienced non-linear editor; degree in Communications field; flexibility to meet tight deadlines; ability to execute distinct marketing and branding strategies. Avid platform experience is a strong plus. Motion design skills, strong writing skills; a good understanding of how to sell news stories and station programming to target demographics. The ability to produce promos with a distinctive, trademark edge and the production of image identity campaigns.

Assignment Desk Editor: WFLD is seeking an energetic, experienced assignment desk editor to gather and set-up stories for daily shows. The candidate will be responsible for logistics working directly with reporters, photographers, producers, managers and the Web team to cover the news of the day. The Assignment Desk Editor must monitor scanners, answer phone calls, coordinate logistics, and dispatch crews effectively and efficiently as well as generate enterprise stories. The ideal candidate will possess an aggressive commitment to breaking news, have strong communication skills and be a proven newsroom leader. REQUIREMENTS: 2-3 year’s newsroom experience required; background should include broadcast news experience on an assignment desk with a proven track record for developing contacts. Must be able to research stories, make important editorial decisions quickly, work well under pressure and have excellent phone skills; BA in communications or journalism is preferred.

Executive Producer: WFLD is seeking an Executive Producer to develop and drive compelling content and production values while positioning on-air talent for maximum performance. We are not looking for someone who wants to maintain the status quo of superficial late local newscasts. This is a leadership position. The Executive Producer must be a leader who knows how to cover breaking news with responsible urgency. We are looking for someone who knows how to frame political and social issues in a balanced way. Someone who can develop a newscast with the key attributes of passion, empathy and sympathy. The Executive Producer will be a part of a smart and savvy news team. The EP will be directly responsible overseeing newscasts producers, writers, news crews and production staff, as well as, approve scripts, and edit copy. Story and future planning, social media campaigns, critiquing programs and evaluating staff are essential components of the position. Ability to perform all other duties as assigned. Approve and regulate expenses. Top candidates must have 5 or more year's television newscast producing/writing experience. Prior news management experience necessary. Superior creativity and organizational skills are essential. Must be resourceful, cost efficient, have strong production and technical knowledge, be able to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure. Good interpersonal skills and an understanding of budgetary issues necessary. Moderate stair climbing, standing, sitting at workstation, and bending.

Per Diem Writer: WFLD is seeking a freelance writer to write stories assigned by producers, gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. Responsible for story content and accuracy. Perform duties of line producer when assigned. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heavy sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking, and stair climbing are also required.

General Assignment Reporter: WFLD is seeking a General Assignment Reporter. The successful incumbent will gather and disseminate news. Communicate to the assignment desk the daily happenings in the field by covering day-to-day news stories through the use of strong writing and live reporting skills, performing as a fill in anchor, and responding to breaking news. Responsible for gathering story information from various news sources and determining the worthiness of each story, idea, tip, etc. Strong knowledge of national and international events, as well as the ability to cover local stories. Keep news management and newscast producer apprised of all breaking news and changes in previous assignments. Communicate with field crews for updates on story assignments. Duties include writing, planning, reporting organized gathered information, performing in-house research, and working well under pressure, social media savvy is necessary. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years television news experience. A degree in Broadcast journalism and knowledge of city politics preferred. Anchoring experience required. Strong writing skills and an aggressive, innovative, resourceful, enterprising, and energetic approach is also required. Experience with newsroom computer a plus. Must be able to deal effectively with people and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Information Support Technician: WFLD is seeking an Information Support Technician who will be responsible for assisting personnel with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology; provide solutions and resolve technical service request. The technician will provide PC technical support to FTS employees including the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices and peripheral technology. Responsible for ensuring systems interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems and Active Directory resources. Level 1-3 helpdesk and ability to work with level 3 TVHOIT employees to troubleshoot and correct issues. Will back-up IT manager and assist with maintaining station’s servers and network. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Technical, or Engineering. One or more certifications are required CCNA (or higher) or Network+. Also desire A+ or MCP (or equivalent in experience)

Junior Account Executive: The Fox O&O duopoly in Chicago is looking for a highly motivated sales person to join our Local Sales team. The position will primarily focus on developing new business for our Broadcast TV and  digital properties. The successful candidate must be able to identify qualified targets, possess strong communication and presentation skills throughout the sales process and maintain a high closing ratio. We are looking for someone that can bring together all of our resources in a creative manner to achieve a high level of results. Other responsibilities include preparing internal reports and the credit and collection of all accounts. REQUIREMENTS: Ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of success in sales. A four year college degree is preferred. Candidate must be a self-starter with strong verbal and communication skills. We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive, creative and passionate to succeed in the highly competitive environment of media sales. Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking are critical to this position. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Account Executive: The Fox O&O duopoly in Chicago is looking for a highly motivated sales person to join our Local Sales team. The position will primarily focus on developing new business for Broadcast TV. The successful candidate must be able to identify qualified targets, use strong communication and presentation skills throughout the sales process and maintain a high closing ratio. We are looking for someone that can bring together all our resources (Top Rated Local News, Fox Network, Fox Sports, My Network TV, Web Sponsorships and Promotions) in a creative manner to achieve a high level of results. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, strategically negotiating existing business along with obtaining incremental dollars from the existing market and building strong client relationships. Responsible for completing administrative tasks such as weekly forecasts, monthly reports, new business trackers, weekly meetings forms and the credit and collection of all accounts. REQUIREMENTS: Ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of success in sales. A four year college degree is preferred. Media sales experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of media math, TV ratings and web metrics is a plus. Candidate must be a self-starter with strong verbal and communication skills. We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive, creative and passionate to succeed in the highly competitive environment of the media sales. Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking are critical to this position. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required and knowledge of media related software and research tools is a plus.
