80-year-old man shot to death in South Shore

CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - An 80-year-old man was found shot to death in the South Shore neighborhood Monday morning on the South Side.
The man was found outside on the ground about 6:20 a.m. in the 2800 block of East 77th Place, according to Chicago Police. He was shot in the face and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but could not immediately provide additional information.
Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
