Man with knife robbing Chicago and suburban businesses

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A man armed with two knives robbed three businesses early Wednesday on the Northwest Side and in northwest suburban Norridge.

In each case, the man entered the business and showed a knife while demanding money from the register, according to Chicago Police.

The robberies were reported:

at 12:40 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Irving Park Road in the Portage Park neighborhood;
at 7:30 a.m. in the 7200 block of West Higgins Avenue in the Oriole Park neighborhood; and
at 8:39 a.m. in the 7500 block of West Irving Park Road in Norridge.

The robber was described as between 20 and 25 years old, white or Hispanic, 5-foot-8 to 6-foot and 180 to 200 pounds, police said. He wore a Blackhawks sweatshirt, gray jeans and a white bandana. He was armed with two knives.

A second suspect, described as a white female, was seen driving a red SUV, police said.
