Man shot at CTA train station in downtown Chicago

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A man was shot Thursday night at a CTA station in the Loop.

The shooting happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the pedway tunnel between the Red and Blue line stations at Jackson in the 200 block of South State Street, according to Chicago police and fire.

The 27-year-old was shot when someone who walked up to him and fired shots in the tunnel, striking him in the hip, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, according to the fire department.

The incident was captured on video and was being reviewed by detectives, CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on Twitter.

The man who was shot was not cooperating with investigators, Guglielmi said.
