(FOX 32 NEWS) - The best-selling "Goosebumps" series turns 25 this month.

The first book, "Welcome to Dead House," was published in 1992. Author RL Stine said that the books have been going for so long, he gets a wide age range of fans at events.

"I'm just surprised that I get to scare so many generations. I do a book signing now and I get 7-year-olds and 10-year-olds, and 25-year-olds and 30-year-olds," Stine said. "I'm getting used to it. But that was a shock at first."

Stine said that he tries to think of a title, and then he figures out what the next book is about.

"The new Goosebumps book is called Attack of the Jack, and I had that title, and I thought, 'What was that?' And then I thought, 'Maybe it's a haunted Jack-in-the-box.' So that's the newest one that just came out."

Goosebumps was named the world's bestselling book series of all time in the 2003 Guinness Book of World Records.
