Police release new surveillance video in Garland woman's murder

Garland Police provided new surveillance video in the investigation into a 20-year-old woman's Friday morning murder.

The footage from neighboring surveillance cameras gives a better look at the three men police are searching for. Images include two suspects on foot, with the third man driving a compact car, possibly a Nissan Altima. Investigators also point out that one of the suspects has a reflective material on his sleeve.

Police say 20-year-old Jocelyn Sarabia-Marlon was shot and killed in her front yard as she returned home from work.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 900 block of East Linda Drive. Family members said they heard a gunshot and came outside to find Jocelyn’s body on the ground.

She was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.

It’s not yet clear who shot Sarabia-Marlon and why. Family members said she had just gotten off of work at a convenience store.

"She was just talking about going into the Army, she was, you know, she wanted to do something,” said Alexia Guerrero, victim's sister.

Garland police released pictures of the suspect vehicle and are asking for the public’s help in identifying who owns it. Investigators are also working on video they've obtained of the three suspects involved.

"This is horrible and so we need to find out who did this. Obviously the people who did this, they're A danger to our community,” said Garland Police Lt. Pedro Barineau.

Jordan Abdul, Joshlin’s boss, said she was a model employee and worked at several of his convenience stores. Last night she was working at one in the 13000 block of Forest in Dallas.

"She came in, she'd light up the room. She just did her best every single day and in everything she did,” Abdul said.

He showed FOX4 video showing her leaving work alone about 1 a.m. Friday, with no one apparently following her out of the store.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840. Anonymous tips are also welcome at www.garlandcrimestoppers.org
