2 killed, 5 others wounded outside Chicago bar in drive-by mass shooting

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - Two people were killed and five others were injured in a mass shooting outside a South Side bar.

The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. The shooting happened after a fight inside Reynold’s Lounge.

Police said a silver Ford pulled up when someone inside began shooting.

Two men, ages 39 and 36 years old, died as a result, and two including one hospitalized in critical condition, were also injured. Three women hit by gunfire are expected to recover.

By daylight, just a strip of crime scene tape remained steps away from the re-opened bar. Patrons and a bartender inside declined to comment on the incident.

A past patron of the bar, Darlene Gathings calls the shooting unexpected and said the bar caters mostly to an older crowd of people.

“It's decent,” Gathings said, adding that it’s “crowed a lot, but that's it.”

Police have been unable to figure out if the people hit were the shooters' intended target or if they were part of the fight.

No one is in custody.
