CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Champaign police say four people have recently been robbed while trying to buy items advertised on Craigslist.

Police told The News-Gazette that all four people agreed to buy something listed on the online site and arranged to meet the seller at an apartment parking lot. But when each arrived they were robbed by a man with a handgun.

No one has been injured.

Champaign police said that anyone planning to make such a purchase in person should set a secure, public meeting place and either take someone with them or let a friend or relative know beforehand where and when the meeting is set to take place.
