Nationwide recall of pet food issued over salmonella concerns

A voluntary recall was issued for 53 cases of pet food because of possible salmonella contamination.
The impacted pet foods were distributed to retail stores across the country and no illnesses have been reported resulting from use of the product.

Food and Drug Administration officials identified the contamination after pet food samples were gathered by the federal agency.

Is a refund available for the recalled pet food?
What you can do:
Food and Drug Administration officials urged consumers who bought the pet food in these lots to stop feeding it to their pets and return the unused portion to the store where it was purchased to receive a full refund.
